While it’s hard to imagine Santa’s elves suing their holly jolly employer, it would be wise for Santa to have the right insurance coverage in place, just in case.
An employment practices liability policy would protect against lawsuits by elves claiming wrongful termination, harassment, or poor working conditions. The elves have a happy, healthy work environment, and their boss is not known to be persnickety, so Santa is most likely considered a good risk – which helps with his premium. The employee handbook, loss history, Santa’s termination procedure, and human resources practices would be reviewed before the policy is written.
